CHARITIES WE ARE SUPPORTING

Fuse 2 Communications Director Wayne Mills-Kidals will be undertaking a high altitude climb in the Khumbu regions of Nepal, close in proximity to Everest itself.

The challenge will be a big undertaking, climbing to altitudes over 20,000ft on a mountain much higher than anything in Europe and around the world. Lobuche East mountain Nepal.

Fuse 2 will attempt to really put to the test unified communications and test how modern technology such as Microsoft Teams direct routing will perform through remote areas including an attempt of one of the highest Microsoft Teams phone calls powered via the FUSE 2 global network itself.

We don’t just want this to be about technology but at the same time, we really want to raise some money for really important charities. Project Lobuche will take Microsoft teams Direct Routing to the farthest ends of the earth in the challenge to test it at extreme altitudes and to raise money for some great causes.

To put this challenge in perspective the height of Lobuche is compared with a few other well known “hills”

Ben Nevis       1,345m

Mont Blanc      4,809m

Kilimanjaro      5895m

Lobuche          6,119m

Everest (Camp2) 6,200m

Everest      8,849m

Lobuche is over four times the height of the UK’s tallest peak. Mont Blanc has a cable car going 80% of the way up. OK, Everest is a bit higher. We will be keeping you all updated on progress and how you can contribute to this page.
